And It’s Called PROJECT NEON

Nevada department of transportation (NDOT)  is planning on redesigning the I-15 between the Spaghetti Bowl and Sahara. They are calling it “Project NEON”. The city is riddled with congestion and there are several accidents daily on this part of the freeway. NDOT blames increased traffic in this area of the freeway for the problems. There are five phases being planned at this time with approved funding for only one.  Project Neon is a $1.5 billion project rumored to break ground in 2014.  It’s still unclear when the next phases will begin but NDOT plans to extend this project over the next 20 years. One of the down sides to Project Neon is neighborhoods and businesses will be affected. NDOT has already purchased several homes to be torn down for phase 1 construction. The city plans to purchase properties at their assessed values plus pay all moving costs within a 50 miles of Las Vegas. If you are curious if your home or business will be affected visit their website at www.ndotprojectneon.com.
