Dance, Dance and Theatre Las Vegas

Las Vegas has some great performing arts shows this weekend. If you don’t know what you want for entertainment, come and enjoy some local shows right around the valley.

The Las Vegas Academy of International Studies, Performing and Visual Arts, better known as LVA, dance Department is hosting their Fall concert on October 5th and 6th in the Performing Arts Center. This won’t break the budget tickets are only $7 and can be purchased at the door. The center is located on Clark St. between 9th and 10th. Las Vegas Ballet Company will be performing at CSN Cheyenne Campus on Sunday October 7th at 2pm in the Horn Theater. These talented youth ballet dancers will be showcasing excerpts of the classical Giselle Ballet and featuring their own Glory. The company will also perform a new modern piece choreographed by the wonderful Gregg Sample.  Tickets are only $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. This community event will raise money through tickets sales and donate all funds to the Youth Enterprise Scholarship for CSN. This scholarship is for financial need based students. If you’re not in the mood for dancing, two theatre shows will concluding this weekend as well. If you haven’t checked out the newly opened Arts Square Theatre in the Downtown Arts District you still have a chance to enjoy the show Nurture, from this Thursday through Sunday. Also, This is the last weekend to see the popular Broadway production, Wicked at the Smith Center for Performing Arts. The show’s last performance is on Sunday, Oct 7th. You can find more information here
